Community Foundation Site that’s Easy to Navigate and even Easier to Maintain

JCCF, Inc. is the community foundation serving Jackson County, West Virginia, building a family of charitable funds whose earnings support the community through grants and scholarships. The foundation positions itself as more than a fund manager, providing local leadership to unite time, talent, and funding to strengthen the quality of life in Jackson County. Programs include twice-yearly competitive grants and scholarships, as well as donor funds focused on the arts, youth, animal welfare, and other causes.

The Problem

Jackson County Community Foundation needed a clean, template-driven site that could be customized to their sections (Funds, Grants, Team, Events), with reliable forms for grants and contacts, member/admin access for updates, and hosting that wouldn’t crash during grant-cycle traffic. Maintenance had to be simple so staff and volunteers could keep pages current without babysitting plugins.

Our Approach

We implemented a template design with targeted customizations, then built the site around clear navigation to Funds, Grants (with deadlines), Team, and Events. Forms were set up for inquiries and online grant applications, and we configured role-based access so that staff can edit content safely. The site operates on our managed hosting stack, which includes SSL, automated backups, updates, and uptime monitoring. Ongoing maintenance includes staged core/theme/plugin updates, as well as quick ticket support for grant cycle date changes, adding new funds, posting events, and minor layout tweaks. Result: a dependable, easy-to-update hub for donors, applicants, and community partners.
